About Allie

About

Hello! My name is Allie Hack, and I am a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I offer one-to-one counselling, to support you through whatever you are facing, a listening ear and a space free from judgement.

The power of counselling, I believe, is being able to speak freely, expressing who we are without fear of judgement. The Humanistic Integrative approach means you are at the heart of the work we do together.

I am passionate about the work I do and much of my experience includes working with depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, self-harm, grief, loss and low self-esteem. I have worked in the youth, education and charity sector for over 25 years. Throughout my training and practice I have worked with a range of people. Making people feel at ease and able to talk freely is important to me, from adolescents to senior leaders in the military and corporate organisations.

When experiencing anxiety or depression life can feel hopeless, the future uncertain and this can lead to feelings of exhaustion and social isolation. Since the pandemic people have struggled for direction and focus. This has affected many different age groups; adolescents with missed school, exams, young adults feeling unsure about the future, adults experiencing relationship breakdown with financial pressures mounting. People have face loss of loved ones and ongoing health challenges. If you are struggling, you are not alone.

Feeling heard, supported and encouraged provides my clients with the right environment to take the time for themselves, the freedom to be honest and the opportunity to explore what would improve their well-being. It can feel strange to put yourself first but talking things through can be a significant step to improving your life and achieving a sense of peace and well-being. We will work together to find a way forward, so you can face your future, with tools to use when things are difficult, a greater sense of self-awareness, acceptance and feeling in control of your life.

I seek continually to develop my skills through professional development to provide the best service I can to my clients.

I have a current DBS, I have been a Designated Safeguarding Lead for a national charity and hold Indemnity Insurance, ICO Data Control registration and am trained in GDPR.
